Central Idea
Humans have different perspectives, so when they interact with each other conflicts may arise. This leads to a need to find solutions to improve relationships and create a better society
Concepts:
  • Form: In which ways does technology affects SC/gossip in primary at the CCB?
  • Function: What is the role of SC/gossip in the CCB?
  • Change: How does Sc change when gossip is included?
  • Causation: What makes kids change/manage/spread info at the CCB?
  • Connection: How is SC/gossip connected to media, such as technology?
  • Perspective: How many kids aproximately have been affected or have affected others through SC at CCB?
  • Responsibility: Does everybody if what they tell others is true? Do they manage info?
  • Reflection: How do we know gossip is always going to be bad?
Lines of Inquiry:

  • An inquiry into the elements and causes of the bad comunication which lead to gossi, in which we can find positive such as negative aspects.
  • An inquiry into the way in which bad comunication affects the personal and social life of an individual and its society.
  • An investigation into possible solutions to the distorted information(gossip) and its elements which can treaten the lifes and relationships of individuals around the society
How will we know what we have learned? We show the understanding of our topic by all the info we have uploaded to our wiki.
Learning Experiences:
  • Media: we have seen videos about our topic and upload them to our wiki. The videos are mostly from youtube (we puted the link of the videos of our wiki). Another way of our investigation are the websites and books.

  • Interviews: The boys have interviewed the psycologist Amanda and Doris. The girls interviewed Ricardo Piñeda. They are both an experts.

  • Survey: we are doing a survey to the kid from 7-12 years and this will bring us statistics for having facts about our topic.

  • Observations/experiences: we the kids have had experiences about gossip. We live it day by day.

  • Guest Speaker/Experts: CCB psychologist(Amanda & Doris) and Ricardo Piñeda a psychologist from Bogota D.C

Action:
We want to do a direct action. Speech to 2 and 5 grade (8-9, 10-11 years old). We also want to do a campaign against gossip telling to the people how bad gossip can be,making t-shirts for us that says no gossip, bracelets for the kids that we are going to do the speech and other activities. With this action we will try to do a change in people to try and gossip less, because gossip is a really bad and dangerous thing for all humans and societies.
Reflection:
By doing our inquiry process we have very clear the central idea and lines of inquiry. At the beginning we had difficulties for understanding the central idea but now we understand it, so now we don’t have problems for doing the process. We had worked really well and find out many things and information we needed to know, so we are really happy with our process and group work cause we had done a good job and we had get along really well with each other.
